This matter came to be heard at this time on the report of the Board of County Road Viewers for a second reading, as provided , by law, said report belne In words following to-wlt: To the Honorable County Court: We, the undersigned board of County Road Viewers, appointed by the Honoiable Court, to view, sur vey and lay a. it a county road as prayed for In the petition of Bird Garffett and otihes, beg leave' to report: That pursuant to said order we met at the beginning of the pro posed road on fie. 4th day of June 1909 the same oeing the time and place fixei by said order for the meelng of the undersigned Board of County Road Viewers and took to our assistance John G. Wrav f.nd Luther Trump as chain bearers and Bird Sarrett as marker and proceeded to view, survey and lay out said road a prayed for in said petition, as near as in our opinion a good road can be made at a reasonable' expense, taking into consideration the utility, conveni ence and Inconvenience and ex pense whCch wlil result to Individu als as we'l as the public, If such road shall be established and opened. The said road was surveyed under our directions, and the same was conspicuously marked throughout, the corners and distances thereon noted, and all trees on the line of said road were marked on each of the sides thereof corresponding with the direction of said road, with three notches cut through the bark and one inch Into the wood, and all treea adjacent to the said line of sail road were plainly blazed oil the side facing said road The beginning and termination of said road and the termination of each mile and intermediate points have been marl.ed in the manner provided by law, as will more fully appear toy the ceitifled return of the surveyor of said road, which Is hereunto attached and made a part of this report. That In our opinion the said pro,-, posed road should be -establlshe... for the following reasons-: It make much easier grale than old road and accommodates more people and the travellnfj publlo J The portion of the old road sousiV to be vacated contains grades as high as 18.7 rer cent. The stnepest grade on the proposed change is 6.5 per cent. No damages claimed and none al lowed. It is hereby considered and ordered that the same be approved by the county court by the name of Riverside Park Addition to Wal lowa, Oregon, and It is further ordered that the same be filed and recorded In the. county records. In the matter of appointing a county fruit Inspector. Now at this time the matter of appointing a county fruit Inspector came regularly on to be heard, and it appearing to the court that Ford C. Potter ot Wallo a, Oregon, hav ing presented the coirrt with a peti tion with the names of twenty five and more residents and fruit growers of this county, and after the court fully considering the matter. It is considered and ordered that Ford C. Potter, of Wallowa, Oregon, be and he hereby Is ap pointed county fruit Inspector, to hold office during the pleasure of the said court.
