DEATH RECORD, Mrs. Louisa J. Doak, an Oregon jioneer who crossed the plains 49 , eats ago, died at Joieph, Tuesday, iged 79 yeirs, 7 months, and 29 lays. Funeral was held Wednesday, services being conducted by Rev. .V. S. Crockett of the Enterprise Christian church, both at the home if the daughter, Mr3. Ida Bailey, in ose.;h, and In the chapel at Prairie Creek cemetery, where the body was interred. Mis. Doak was born in Scot jounty. 111., Aug. 1, 1829, and was married to Lafayette McDanlel Nov. 17, 1846. Five children were bor.i to that unlJn. Mr. McDanlel diad a 1S57. Mrs. McDanlel was married -o W. T. Doak In 1860, anr' crossol :he plains to Oregon the sams ,'ear, settling in Lane county. To this union six children were born -hree of whom survive .the mother. Mr. Doak died August 22, 1888. ilrs. Doak disposed of the old homestead In Lane county and came to Wallowa county In 1901 to make aerhome with her sons and daughter. She leaves to mojrn her death three daughters and three sons: Mrs. Jane Daugherty, Mrs. Mary E3. McConley of Portland, Oregon; A, G. McDanlel of Lane county; I. N. Doak, W. R. Doak, and Mrs. Ida Batley, of this county. The deceased was a conscientious Christian worker for the last 50 years, a faithful wife and loving mo' her.
