There Is a demand that the grade of the road be reduced over the hill between E. A. Hart's and Pratt's. It can be done at comparatively smal' expense and will be a big boon tc the farmers and wool growers of all the east country. The Christian Endeavor society ol the Presbyterian church will give e "Brown Evening" on the lawn at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Bur naugh, Friday night. A small ad mission fee will' be charged, the proceeds going for the benefit ol the band. There will ' be a meeting of the members of the Library association at Its rooms In the opera house building on next Tuesday afternoon The meeting Is for the purpose ol adopting a constitution and by-laws and completing a permanent organl zatlon and it is hoped all members will attend. Prof. W. H. Boyer, the great musical director of Portland, is now in Enterprise hard at work organiz ing his company for the coming sea son of comic opera. His selection this year is Audrau's famous opera "Olivette," one of the most success ful comic operas ever produced. Mr. Boyer finds, this year, Beveral sing ers of much promise who were not here, last season, and is consequently delighted at the prospects, predicting that even last season's great suc cess will bo exceeded this year.
