Wallowa, March IB The U. 8., Civil Service commission announces its in tention to hold an examination to obtain n list of eligibles for the position of "Forest Ranger" on April 23 and 24, 1908. Tor this section of Oregon the examination will be held at the olQce of the Forest Supervisor at Wallowa. The examination w ill be ale mi thoroughly practical lines and will consist of ques tions regarding the uses of the forest, supplemented by a field , test to show the applicant's lituess to perform the actual work of "a Ranger; in the field test the usual tests in tiding aud pack ing will be given.
