Nobles, well known by l.-rny residents of Wallowa county, (l:ed at her home In Asotin, Wash., July 15, at 2:30 p. m. She would have been 43 years of age had she lived until August 31. Mrs. .Nobles, was born In Illinois August 31, 1869. Her family mov ed to Missouri and later tt Wallowa, Oregon. ' Mrs. Nobles whose maid en name was Miss Ida May Taylor resided in" Wallowa eighteen years, and on January 24, 1886, was- united la marriage to James B. Nobles. -Vine yeojra ago Mr. and Mrs. No bles and . family moved to Asotin, Wash. Mrs. Nobles was the mother of nine children, four boys and five Sirls, all of whom with the father xnd husband, and a mother and four sis-'-ers survive her. The entire immediate family were present at -he tine of Mrs. Nobles' death. The funeral services were held from the Christian church at A tin, July 16. One sister and the mother live In Santa Anna, Calif, cwo 6ister3 in Missouri and one sis ter In Washington. COURT ORDERS THOMAS TUCKER AGAIN APPREHENDED Last week Judge Knowles of the circuit court ordered thait Thomas j Tucker be apprehended. According ly the sheriff's office served -the order, returning ' with the prisoner. The matter da'jes back some two years ago when Mr. Tucker was chained with inciting a riot at the iiakin shewing plant in which one man is aKeged to have been shot thro-jgh the leg by Tucker. The case was heard and Tucker's attorneys took an appeal to the supreme court 'sit foiled, it teems.to file notice of -he appeal in the required time. The supreme court thus had no knowl edge of the affair. When Judge Knowles learned from the supreme court of the status of -the case, lie found Mr, Tucker to be within -he jurisdiction' of this court, - and accordingly issued the order. Ftpoe of Wallowa. 3oth defendants were' fouod guilty. Alleged "near-beef was found! to contain, on chemical analysis, 5.33 per cent, alcohol. Ordinary lager beer was found, on analysis, to con tain from 3 to 6 per cent alcohol. Saealled "near beer" was thus found o be an intoxicating beverage and s such was ound to be in violation f the Wallowa county local option aw when sold. WOOL BUYERS HERE TO DIRECT WOOL SHIPMENTS C. P. Angell of the Hallo well, Jones & Donald company arrived in Enterprise Tuesday evening to direct the shipments' of wool recent ly purchased by him here. Repre sentatives of the several other wool consignees, who purchased parts of the Wallowa county clip, also ar rived Wednesday and Thursday, and the woolgrowere' ware house here will 'be "cleaned" of wool within a few days.
