The enrollment of the public school j la 259, which is e'.even more than the highest registration last year. Thus some grades are too large for much Individual instruction. When erades are so large, there should be I two divisions. However, the lack of I teachers makes this impossible ex 'cept in the first and third grades the largest grades. As the beginning of the year is the only proper time. In a Bchool of this kind, for primary pupils to enroll, we would discourage any par ents who may be contemplating start iiig therl children to school now or liter on during the year. As no new class can be formed and as the teacher cannot devota much Individ ua! attention to stieh pupils, they would dsrive very little benefit. Tha means of ventilation have beei nent and aiford opportunity for im-iiindow-boards. 'Thus a continuous iuppry of fredh air is secured with out exposing any pupils -to draughts. Thermometers alsD aerve as guides o health and comfort. There are very few first-class schools that are not fully equipped with single seats and hyloplate black boards, and we were disappointed to find that this was one of the few. Parents should sea that their chil dren have these essjntials next year. Permit us to remind you that what man of you could not have Is now a economical necessity. We would impjess upon pupils 2nd parents the difference between a passable grade of 80 per cent and ia ideal grade of 93 per cant.
