It is needless to recount the miserable service that large and splendid sec tion is now curse! with, when one part received four malls a month for i time last winter. It is time the department was made o do justice to the people out there. There should te a daily service to Klota and Para-'i e. That much is clearly due. This will be accomplished f the tri-weekly route from Enter prise to Flora is added. to the pras nt tri-weekly one from Wallowa. And it will be granted if the people jf the North End want it. If thay lon't ii will be pi ;eone J-holed. BIG HARVEST AHEAD. H. T. Mitchell of Prairie Creek reports a tremeni'.ojs harvest ahead of him on his bis Prairie Creek ranch. He has 300 acre3 of hay to put up, uios'ly alfalfa and some timothy md 400 acre3 of grain. The ground .vas prepared and the grain all sown since they returned to this valley 'rom Ashland last March. There was uever a finer promise of an immense crop. It i3 reported wheat is being con tracted .in the Walla Walla country t one dollar a bushel. That is a ?ood, fair price, and every bushel should be sold for that price or more. That price gives a fair profit to the grower and better enables him to ;ay the outrageous advance in cloth ing and other manufactured goods already made bacause of the surety of the passage of the Aldrich tariff atrocity. Those who visit Gotham do uot delay long In getting there, end those who have never been outside the city !l:ulu are equally conscious of the thoroughfare's Ir resistible charm. It Is a region in which something Is continually go ing on. Those who go there to see things are tlsappolnted rarely. Now, the seeing of those things In volves some risk.
