the American Revolution In Ashland.
This is a patriotic order and any
woman with sufficient qualifications

Surprised Officers
Tho members of the Ladies' Aux
iliary club surprised their president,
Mrs. S. B. McXair, by gathering un
expectedly at her home on Liuirei
street lust Saturday evening. An
entertaining program of games and
contents had been planned, and were
carried out to the amusement of all,
alter which most delicious refresh
ments were served. Mrs. McNair
was presented witli a fine gift from
the members of the club as a Blight
reward for the efficient service Bho
has bestowed. This honor was also
shared by Mrs. Ray Murphy, nee Miss
Emilia Jenkins, secretary of the Aux
iliary, who was ulso presented with
a wedding gift.
Canteen Gains Recognition

the Ashland canteen workers, who
did such efficient service feeding
soldiers passing through the city
during the war. The personnel of

nual dinner given by the members
of the Methodist congregation. The
table was bountifully spread with all

zens of Ashland. For the present

wedding of Miss Nellie Ernestine

Medford, at the home of the bride
on Hush street Thursday afternoon
at 4 o'clock. The house was effec
tively decorated with evergreens and
pink chrysanthemums, while trailing
