The Pendleton Round-Up never
fails to attract many famous people
who are among the thousands who
see the big show and the 1922 pre
sentation September 21, 22 and 23
w ill be no exception.
Be W. Oleott, governor of Oregon,
D. W. Davis, governor of Idaho, Wal
lace Irwin, Saturday Evening Post
writer; George Palmer Putman, pub
lisher and author; Heywood Broun
and Ruth Hale, newspaper and mag
azine writers; Frederick O'Brien, au
thor of "White Shadows in the South
Seas"; Charles Hanson Towne and
Dr. Walter E. Traproek, (George
Chappell) both noted writers have
made reservations for the three days
and other prominent people will be
here also.
Already the livestock is beinu
brought to Pendleton, in preparation
for the staging of the world's great
est out-door drama. Two carloads of
Mexican longhorn steers, whose chief
characteristic is a decided hostility to
the world in general are being caivd
for on the Umatilla ranch by W. K.
Doughtrey and Bod Abams. The ani
mals will without doubt add consider
able zest to the events, of track and
irena and it is probable that a pleas
ant time will be had by all when the
visitors from over the border "meet
up" with Round-Up performers.
