Among other things the contract vlded for the refastenlng of knees, pro new coal bunkers, new upper deck, same to be rc-canvassed: ship's top sides and deck to be caulked,' two courses copper along tho water line, hatches repaired, mooring bits and cavils re newed, new mast and derrick boom, Knller timber renlaced. forward bulk head rebraced, repairing outside guard fender and buoy fenders replaced, new stanchions in hold, butworks and ports repaired and a new galley. Mrs. R. M. Stuart is seriously ill at her home in this city, and a telegraphic message has been sent to her mother requesting the latter to come uown frcm Portland at once.
