Co-iIi medicines, Ayer's Cherry I'ec. tural is in greater demand thau ever Kb preparation for Throat ami Lung Troubles is so prompt in its effects, sc agreeable to the taste, and so widelj known, as this. It is the family medi cine in thousands of households. "I have luffercd for years from a lironchial trouble that, whenever I take cold or am exposed to inclement weath er, shows itself by a very annoying tickling sensation in the throat and by difficulty in breathing. I have tried a great many remedies, but none does so well as Ayer's Cherry Pectoral which always gives prompt relief in returns of my old complaint." Ernest A. Hepler, Inspector of Public Roads, Parish Ter ro Bonne, La. " I consider Ayer's Cherry Tcctoral a most important remedy For Home Use. I have tested ita curativo power, in my family, many times during the past thirty years, and have never known it to fail. It will relieve the most serious affections of the throat and lungs, whether ia children or adults." Mrs. E. G. Edgcrly, Council Bluffs, Iowa. "Twenty years ago I was troubled with a disease of the lungs. Doctors afforded me no relief and considered my case hopeless. I then began to uso Ayer's Cherry Pectoral, and, before I had finished one bottle, found relief. I continued to take this medicine until a cure was effected. I believe that Ayer's Cherry Pectoral saved my life." Samuel Griggs, Waukegan, 111. " Six years ago I contracted a severe cold, which settled on my lungs and soon developed all the alarming symp toms of Consumption. I had a cough, night sweats, bleeding of tho lungs, pains in chest and sides, and was so C rostrated as to be confined to my ed most of tho time. After trying various prescriptions, without benefit, my physician finally determined to give me Ayer's Cherry Pectoral. I took it, and the effect was magical. I seemed to rally from tho first dose of this medicine, and, after using only three bottles, am as well and sound as ever." Rodney Johnson, Springfield, 111. A men from Puyallup rnslied np to a Times reporter to-day and said: "Say, whar'a tho postoEce?" The reporter obliged him. "Say, my gal has pasted a stamp upsido down." The countryman's eyes dilated. He drew his five feet eight inches as nearly as he could to eight feet five. In a voice choked with bad Bourbon nnd emotion ho centinued: "SuBehas gone back on me." Tho Times reporter took the Pnyallup man aside and asked him to give to tho world tho full and complete story of his woes. "Well, you see," ho said, "me and Suso has been hangin' together for a loDg time. I know her nigh on to thirteen years. She wrote mo a let ter, sayin' she would never desert me. but the stamp was upside down. Have yon any idea what that means, young man?" The reporter confessed his igno rance. ,-It means she hates me. You know, for certain, that any gal that thinks right of a man pastes on the envelope." Tho reporter was rapidly becoming dazed by this startling manner of f bowing one's affection, but finally elicited the fact that the flirtation books had not been completed here tofore, and that the language of post age stamps formed an important! factor in linking two tender hearts together. First of all, the blue one cent stamp signifies affection. "When a youth receives a letter with a halt a dozen blue stamps on tho envelope he can go to bed at night with no fear of palpitation of tho heart, for his fair one is desperately in love with him. Tho two cent stamp is the em blem of hatred, and was to tho swain who receives them on his mail. A stamp passed straight up and down and exactly in tho upper right hand corner means "I love yon." If stuck in the same place upside down means "I hato you.'' If in the lower right hand corner, "Meet me to-night." It upside down in the same place, "I cannot meet you to-night." It in the upper left-hand corner, "Please call soon." If inverted, "You need not call." If in the lower left hand corner, "I will trust you." If inverted, "I place no confidence in you. If placed sideways on top of tho let ter, "I will be true to you." If inverted, "i lovo someone else better." The reporter talked to a letter car rier on this hitherto unexplained subject Tho carrier, a handsome blond, said ho was in danger of be ing hugged to death by tho fair ones on his beat if ho delivered stamps properly affixed. On the contrary, if tho message was not to tho liking of the young lady he had to "git" to avoid a thunderstorm. Seattle Timet.
