Long-Standing Blood Diseases are cured by the persevering use of Ayer's Sarsaparilla. This medicine is an Alterative, and causes a radical change in the system The process, in some cases, may not be quite so rapid as in others ; bat, with persistence, the result Is certain. Read these testimonials : " For two years I suffered from a se vere pain in my right side, and had other troubles caused by a torpid liver and dyspepsia. Alter giving several medicines a fair trial without a cure, I began to take Ayer's Sarsaparilla. I was greatly benefited by the first bottle, and after taking five bottles I was com pletely cured." John VT. Benson, 70 Lawrence St., Lowell, Mass. Last May a larce carbuncle broke out on my arm. The usual remedies had no effect and I was confined to my bed for eight weeks. A friend induced me to try Ayer's Sarsaparilla. Less than threo bottles healed the sore. In all my expe r -are with medicine, I never saw more Wonderful Results. Another marked effect of the use of this medicine was the strengthening of my sight." Mrs. Carrie Adams, IIollv Springs, Texas. " I had a dry scaly humor for years, and suffered terribly ; and. as my broth er and sister were similarly afflicted, I presume the malady is hereditary. Last winter, Dr. Tyron, (of Fernandina, Fla.,) recommended mo to take Ayer's Sarsaparilla, and continue it for a year. For five months I took it daily. I havo not had a blemish upon mv body for the last three months." T. !E. Wiley, 118 Chambers St., New York City. " Last fall and winter I was troubled with a dull, heavy pain in my side. I did not notice it much at first, but it gradually grew worse until it became almost unbearable. During the latter part of this time, disorders of the stom. ach and liver increased my troubles. I began taking Ayer's Sarsaparilla, and, after faithfully continuing the use of this medicino for some months, the paiq disanneared and I was eomnletnlv cnreu." Mrs. Augusta A. A Palimaa Car Porter Tells How He Spots Them. It is a Pullman porter, who ia talk in? to an attentive scribe. J "Hardly a week goes by," saya the porter, "that 1 don't see a onuat conple jnst starting out on their hon eymoon. I don't exactly know how I can tell them, bnt they are as plainly marked to my eyes asif thejr had tho words 'bride' and 'groom Btamped in big letters on their fore heads. There is something about them that gives the whole situation away; a kind of cling-right-next-tome-darling air. Of coarse, I have made a mistake now and then, but it is very seldom I do, and I've often found out, after changing my mind two or three times, that I was right after all, though certain appearances were against it. We generally have a test which never fails, and when a doubtful party comes along we spring it on them, just to be sure, you know. "What's the test? Well I'll tell yon. Not long ago a couple got into my car and sat down very quietly in their arm chairs as if they had been used to it all their lives. These did not seem to have the bride and groom air about them at all, and from ex ternal appearances they might have been brother and sister or married for years, but still there was some thing there that made me suspicious, so when I saw them together I went to the news company's boy and I says: Bill, here's a doubtful party; get out the sample copies.' "So Bill geta his tests and started through the car. He handed books to everybody, and when ho came to the suspected party ho took out of his pile two little books, and said, so nearly everybody could hear him: 'Very useful books, sir; hints on housekeeping and hints to newly married people. Only twenty-five cents.' "That did it. The girl got as red as arose and tho -man blushed and said a weak sort of a 'N-n-n-no.' Then they both looked at each other and sort of snickered, and I caught him full in the eye and smiled a sweet smile, giving him a respectful wink at the same time. It was all settled in a minute, and thero was no doubt about it. Well, he took it very good naturedly, and asked me afterwards how in tho world ho had given himself away he aonldn't im agine. I made believe we conld always tell and talked so nicely ho gave mo a dollar when I got through with him." "There oro plenty of other give aways by which I can spot a bride and a groom, and they are as safe generally as tho test. One day a couple camo in the car which by the way was jamrmi and tho mo ment they entered it was as plain ns day that they were newly wedded. '1 passed by them once or twice, and then went in my closet and got a dustpan and brush. I walked right up to where the bride was sitting and dusted up a panful of rice that lay on the floor arcund her in a complete circle. Well, if the people in that car didn't laugh. I'm another. "The custom of throwing rico after a bridal couple always makes it unpleasant for the party, as lots of rice is almost sure to stick to their clothes, hats and in their hair. About the funniest rico thing I ever saw was that which happened in my car just two or three weeks ago. A couple camo in and the test revealed to me that they were bride and groom. They didn't seem to take kindly to it, however, and wo didn't get any sat isfaction out of them at all. By and by the man said to his wife: 'Seems to me this umbrella is not rolled up nice.' "Then he carefully unrolled it, and ontcame three or four pocketsfnl of rico all over the seats and floor. Their friends had rolled up n lot in the folds of the umbrella." Storey, late proprietor of the Chicago Times. contained in a recent issue," said a citizen yesterday, "reminds me of a story told me by n newspaper man. John Flannagan, who dropped dead at a funeral at Utica, N. Y., a little over a year age: "In the lumber district of northern New York a lumberman named Searle had murdered his wife and had been sentenced to be hanged. Flannagan was detailed to write an account of tho hanging for the Utica Herald. He was also correspondent for the Chicago Times, Boston Globe and New York Herald. He chartered an engine and one oar to carry him from the main lino of tho New York Cen tral to the terminus of a branch line, whero he took a buggy and was con veyed to tho village where the execu tion was to take place. Ho was very much annoyed to learn that tho hour for the hanging was 1 o'clock. Ho went to tho prisoner, and after a few minntes's talk, said: 'See here, Searle, if you aro not executed till 1 o'clock it will upset all my work. I'll miss my special car, as it has to be at another'point on tho main lino at 1 o'clock, and I will not bo able to get tho account in any of the papera to-morrow that I represent. Now, as an accomodation to rap, wouldn't- yon bo willing to be executed at 11 o'clock?" After a moment's reflection, Searlo replied: "Well, it is tedious waiting, and if it will bo any accomodation to you I'll do it." Tho sheriff, Who was much more nervous than the prisoner, after somo persuasion was induced to expedite matters, and Searle was hanged at 11 ociocu. Flannagan reached his car just a3 it was about to start without him, and tho realors of the varions jour nals he represented wero edified the next day with a full account of Searles' execution.
