Who will get tho navy yard docs not seem to bo as important a question at present as who will wine and dine tho commission in the most recherche style when it arrives from the east. Seattlo is not moving any faster in this im portant matter than Tacoma or Port Town-end. If the members of tho commi:-sion only kntuv what is in store for their siotiwhs they would lay up in ordinary for a few weeks and become copper-fast-ent-d. It is intimated heie that wine will How like water, and that terrapin will be as plentiful as Pa cific avenue mud. The Tacom.i people arc not quite satisfied et as to where the best site for a navy yard is located whether it is Gifr. harbor; Quar termaster's harbor or Steilacoom. But the mayor and somo of the chamber of commerce people arc going to take a steamboat ride to-morrow to look into the mat ter. But while the Pugct sound ports are figuring on a site for a navy yard, they might as well bear in mind that tho United States government has but one fresh water navy yard in the country. (League island at Philadelphia,) and it wants more. Why? Be cause the war vessel of to day and of the future is of iron, and fresh water is a far better haven for iron vessels than salt water. This is why most of tho iron-clads are now lying up in Philadelphia. Tacoma Corr. Oregonian.- BiiclileiiN Arnica ralvc. The Best Salve in the world foi Cuts, Iiruiscs. Sores.
