A road has been viewed and
surveyed from Salmon creek, on
the Naselle, to interseot the road
from the Naselle to Knappton.
Farmers on the "Willapa are
counting on at least three and a
half to four tons of hay to the
acre this year, all through the
valley.
The bad weather of March, and
the first part of May, was very
damaging to the logging camps as
it kept- theafqa expne$ the
most of that time, and no chance
to put timber in tha water.
The Woods Bros, are making
quite extensive improvements on
their place on the "Willapa. They
have the lumber on the ground
for a large frame barn 20x100 ft.
two stories high; they also have a
large number of acres in crops;
20 acres of potatoes and grain in
proportion.
Calculation is being made- for
the clearing of a large amount of
land on the "Willapa this yoar.
Job. Bullard will have 60 acres
slashed if he can get men. Phil
Drissler 25 acres, Mr. Preston
some 15 or 20 acres, beside
a number of others who will
slash from five to ten.
Fifteen white men and ten
Chinamen are employed at the
Ocean Grove camp grounds. They
ure cutting a road through from
the grounds, to Paul's place on
the bay. This road is intended to
be the principal avenue when the
grounds are finished, but will be
used now to haul lumber on the
grounds. The intention is to hold
campmeetings there in August.

and decree of foreclosure against J.T. Bor
chers. defendant, tor the sum of six hundred
dollars (C00.) with interest thereon from the
12th day of October, 1882, at ten percent, per
annum, together with costs and disburse
ments taxed at 824.65. also for the costs and
