A road has been viewed and surveyed from Salmon creek, on the Naselle, to interseot the road from the Naselle to Knappton. Farmers on the "Willapa are counting on at least three and a half to four tons of hay to the acre this year, all through the valley. The bad weather of March, and the first part of May, was very damaging to the logging camps as it kept- theafqa expne$ the most of that time, and no chance to put timber in tha water. The Woods Bros, are making quite extensive improvements on their place on the "Willapa. They have the lumber on the ground for a large frame barn 20x100 ft. two stories high; they also have a large number of acres in crops; 20 acres of potatoes and grain in proportion. Calculation is being made- for the clearing of a large amount of land on the "Willapa this yoar. Job. Bullard will have 60 acres slashed if he can get men. Phil Drissler 25 acres, Mr. Preston some 15 or 20 acres, beside a number of others who will slash from five to ten. Fifteen white men and ten Chinamen are employed at the Ocean Grove camp grounds. They ure cutting a road through from the grounds, to Paul's place on the bay. This road is intended to be the principal avenue when the grounds are finished, but will be used now to haul lumber on the grounds. The intention is to hold campmeetings there in August. Vidette. If a man would rather endure the tortures of rheumatism than provide himself with a bottle of St. Jacobs Oil, we pity his penu riousness full as much as we do his sufferings. Officer "Willet S. But as a last desperate resort, and without consulting a physician, about three months ago he made a first trial of St. Jacobs Oil, with almost instant success. He has used about two bottles, and to-day is as well aud active as he ever was. And straightening himself up he called attention to his healthy and robust appearance, remarking, l,I am glad to have this opportunity, of testifying to the virtues of the greatest remedy the world ever saw.
