Notes. From Emile Bories, who came down from Missolua last Wednes day, The Dalles Timcs-Moim-laineer learns the following items about tho progress of the werk: There are about 500 men at work between Sand Point and Perma, most of them engaged in surfacing the track. The bridge over Marentz Gulch is 800 feet long and 220 feet high. There are only fifteen men at work on this struct ure. The cars now run to the crossing of the Jocko, fifty miles from Missolua, and" grading is finished along the whole line, ready for track-layers. Mr. Bories does not think that the road wiH be finished by September 1st. Thfl Mullen tunnel is not nearly com pleted yet, and several bridges are yet to be built. At the third crossing of Clark's Fork seventy five men are at work constructing a Howe truss bridge, and about thirty-five engaged in h:iidltng freight. When Mr. Villard parsed over the road lately, he ordered curved iron to replace the rails used at curves. This will take some time and require a vast amount of labor. Winston Bros., who now have the contract from the Flatheadjreservation, are push ing the track through as quickly as possible; but they work much slower than J. L. Hallett did. Bridge builders now receive S per day, and there is a rumor that soon another strike will be made for $10. At first they received S4 but by constant strikes have got their wages iocreased to the pres ent rate. One hundred and six thousand five hundred pounds of merchan dise was received at Chehalis in two days by prairie schooners. MAKKETS. CENTRAL MARKET.
