Bad Break Down.
Last Monday, says the Coos
Bay flcioSy Dean & Co.'s mill was
running on logs put in at Bunch
& Blaine's camp, when the saw
encountered a piece of broken
"dog," two or three inches long,
which had been left near the end
of a log. Everything was brought
up a-standing all of a sudden,
and a G2-inch saw, worth $350,
was so broken and twisted as to be
rendered, entirely worthless, and
the total damage to machinery,
loss of time, etc., footed up fully
$500. Fortunately, and almost
miraculously, no greater damage
ensued no one was injured. A
duplicate of the saw was brought
into icquisition, and Tuesday
morning the mill was running as
usual. A new saw has been
ordered. The man who left that
iron in that log should be ashamed
" of himself. In addition to the ex
pense and trouble he has caused
the mill company, it is a wonder
that he did not cause the killing of
one or more persons. Such things
result to the detrimeut of the log
