Dangerous Condition
ilfti.
e unuerstaml that the condition
of Scott, who shot a few days
ago, was yeftterday afternoon so much
worse that Carlson was held under
arrest in increased bail of S.OGO, in
default of which he was committed to
jail. The unfortunate condition of
Scott is a matter of sincere regret to
his friends and acquaintances. It is
alleged that he was simply passing by
the house when he received the con
tents of Carlsen's gun in his shoulder,
and was not even cognizant that Carl
sen lived there, much less had any in
tent to pay his domicile a visit.
2hat Fish "Wheel.
A gentleman who came down from

net catch 78 at the head of an eddy in
less than hour. Ho caught three at
one scoop. The fish in making tho
passage of the cataract are obliged to
keep closo to the shore and so arc
teadily captured. A law must bo
passed by the next legislature to put
a stop to this wholesale dostiuvtinu of
salmon.
