Florence Chamber seeks entries in 2021 photo contest
T
he Florence Area Chamber
of Commerce is looking for
the best amateur or professional
photos of the fun, frolic, famous
attractions, iconic buildings and
beautiful scenery of Oregon’s
Coastal Playground.
The winner will collect a $250
cash prize and have their submit-
ted photo featured in the cham-
ber’s resource guide and other
printed marketing pieces, on their
website and in social media. A
panel of chamber members will
decide the winner.
The winner will be announced
the week of Nov. 1. Previous win-
ners have included professional
and amateur photographers.
Deadline for entry is Oct. 15.

Get $50 for vaccination at drive-thru clinic today
A free drive through
vaccination clinic will be
held on Saturday, Aug. 21,
from 1 to 3 p.m. at Siuslaw
Middle School, 2525 Oak
St. in Florence. Walk-up
vaccinations will also be
available.
Insurance is not needed.
The clinic will be offering
the Pfizer vaccine for ages
12 and older, and the John-
son & Johnson vaccine for
ages 18 and older.
Lane County Public
Health is offering a $50
Visa card to anyone over
the age of 12 receiving the
vaccination at this clinic;
this is a limited time incen-
tive while supplies last. The
$50 will be issued in the
form of a Visa card at the
time of vaccination that can
be used anywhere that ac-
cepts Visa. Participants will
receive $50 per dose (1 card
for the first dose, 1 card for
the second dose).
Appointments are not
required to receive a vac-
cination, but, if desired,
an appointment can be
scheduled at www.Lane-
C ounty.org/VaxClinics.
COVID-19 vaccinations
are free and available re-
gardless of immigration
status.

KXCR, Florence’s com-
munity radio, will be host-
ing an all-day live fundrais-
ing broadcast on Saturday,
Aug. 21, with guests and a
garage sale at the KXCR sta-
tion, 1509 Ninth St. KXCR
streams at 90.7 FM.
Proceeds and donations
