2A | WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 19, 2020 | SIUSLAW NEWS On The Record OBITUARIES SCHOFIELD — Mar y Anne Schofield, 88, of Florence, joined her hus- band Paul Sr. in heaven on Sept. 14, 2020. Her three children were with her when she passed peaceful- ly at her daugh- t e r ’ s home af- ter a short battle with lung cancer. Mary Anne Mary Schofield A n n e was born March 7, 1932, in Bowie Colo., into a family of sev- en children. She worked at Hill Air Force base in Utah in her 20s, where she met and married Paul on Jan. 6, 1953. Paul and Mary Anne moved to Oregon in 1956 to raise their children. They settled in Florence in the early 60s. She was a hard worker and a jack of all traits. She was part of one of the first crews that planted beach grass on the Florence sand dunes. She worked at the Win- chester Bay fish plant in the early 70s, and was also a long time cashier at the Coast to Coast store. Mary Anne loved the outdoors. Her and Paul spent time with their chil- dren fishing and claming. Many happy Easters they could be found picnicking at the North Jetty. In the Early 70s Paul and Mary Anne purchased a home up the North Fork Siuslaw Road. It was the original Minerva post of- fice. They always had a gar- den, chickens and cows. They moved to Alaska in 1977 to work in the logging camps. Mom was the camp cook. This was a perfect fit for her as she always loved to cook. Her specialties were baked desserts. Even in her 80s, she was baking pies and cookies for anyone who stopped by to visit. She loved giv- ing homemade candy at Christmas. She enjoyed garden- ing and flowers and has a special love for roses. She paints with oils, crochets, and when she was younger she quilted. Paul and Mary Anne also spent several years in Moab, Utah, mining gold before they returned back to Florence to live out the rest of their lives with their children and grandchil- dren. Mary Anne is a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Florence. One of her greatest pleasures was being part of the church community. She has made many cherished friends at Saint Mary’s who have sup- ported her and her family in this tough time. The family will be hav- ing a small private service at the church in the near future. Mary Anne was preced- ed in death by her husband Paul in 1996; her parents, Fred and Kathrin Gallob of Paonia, Colo.; two broth- ers: Bill and Joe, also from Colorado; and her son-in- law, Dan Saunders, from Mapleton. She is survived by her children: Diane Saunders, Paul Schofied (Loni) and Fawn Gates (David); Her AMBULANCE/FIRE LES SCHWAB TIRE CENTERS Tires • Brakes Shocks • Alignment Western Lane Ambulance District and Siuslaw Valley Fire & Rescue Ambulance and fire call runs Sept. 13-19 Date Time 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/13/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/14/20 9/15/20 9/15/20 9/15/20 0:29 0:34 1:25 8:25 10:15 12:25 12:52 13:57 14:02 14:13 14:45 15:32 17:32 17:49 18:21 19:23 19:55 20:45 21:42 3:37 4:23 5:13 5:42 7:02 7:47 8:07 9:48 11:50 11:53 13:41 13:51 14:03 14:18 14:27 16:27 19:39 23:13 2:49 10:20 12:49 Area Type Medical, S Loftus Rd SVFR No Transport Airport Rd Assist, Public Manzanita Dr Assist, Public Medical, Leeward Dr SVFR Transport Saltaire St Assist, Public 15th St Transport to PHH 9th St Transport to RB 9th St Transport to PHH 9th St Transport to RB MVA, S Jetty SVFR Assist, Agency Sherwood Lp Assist, Public 9th St Transport to PHH Hwy 126 Transport to PHH 9th St Transport to ALF Rhododendron Dr Assist, Public Fire, 31st St SVFR Public Assist 9th St Transport to RB Rhododendron Dr Assist, Public 9th St CCT- Transport to RB 4th Ave Transport to PHH Juniper St Assist, Public North Fork Siuslaw Rd Transport to PHH Skunk Hollow Rd Assist, Public 9th St Transport to ALF Hwy 101 SVFR Public Assist Hwy 36 Transport to PHH Airport Rd Transport to PHH Fire, S Jetty Rd SVFR Public Assist 9th St No Transport Wild Winds St SVFR Public Assist 21st St Transport to PHH Earhard Rd Assist, Public Primerose Ln Transport to PHH Hwy 126 No Transport 9th St CCT- Transport to RB 21st St Transport to PHH 9th St CCT-Transport to MKWMC 9th St Transport to MKWMC Medical, Greenwood St SVFR Transport Fire, Hwy 101 SVFR Public Assist Date Time Area 9/15/20 9/15/20 9/15/20 9/15/20 9/15/20 9/15/20 9/15/20 9/16/20 9/16/20 9/16/20 6/16/20 9/16/20 9/16/20 9/16/20 9/17/20 9/17/20 9/17/20 9/17/20 9/17/20 9/17/20 9/18/20 9/18/20 9/18/20 9/18/20 9/18/20 9/18/20 9/18/20 9/19/20 9/19/20 9/19/20 9/19/20 9/19/20 9/19/20 9/19/20 9/19/20 9/19/20 9/19/20 9/19/20 9/19/20 9/19/20 13:47 16:28 16:59 17:23 20:21 20:58 21:30 6:57 12:00 14:56 17:58 20:56 21:56 23:48 4:06 14:15 16:22 16:37 17:29 20:42 5:36 10:32 11:17 14:11 14:28 16:10 16:44 1:03 8:27 8:43 10:14 12:16 12:56 13:35 14:38 15:08 19:22 20:05 22:43 22:53 9th St Transport to RB 9th St Transport to RB N Jetty Beach USCG No Transport Rhododendron Dr Assist, Public Medical, Spruce St SVFR Transport to PHH 9th St Transport to RB Rhododendron Dr Assist, Public Spruce St Assist, Public Saltaire St Transport to PHH Medical, Collard Lp SVFR Transport North Ln SVFR Public Assist 9th St Transport to RB Medical, Pine St SVFR Transport to PHH Medical, N.
