According to Senior Chief Jay Nilles, crews are on the water training every day as they patrol the river and monitor water conditions, as well as interact- ing with boaters and enforcing safety regulations. This year’s national Wom- en’s March theme is “Wom- en Rising.” It will also be a celebration of the 100th an- niversary of women’s right to vote. Marchers will gather at noon for a rally with local speakers, including Pas- tor Karen Baisinger, Sal- ly Wantz, Florence City SIUSLAW NEWS FILE PHOTO Councilor Ron Preisler and Shirley Nelson, who represents the League of Women Voters. The march route will be along the west side of Highway 101 down to Bay Street and back up to the east side of Highway 101. Back at the Method- ist church following the march, at 12:45 p.m., there will be time in the fellow- ship hall to mingle, enjoy refreshments and learn more about the projects taking place in the local community to improve the lives of those who live here. The community is invited to join FOR with positive outlooks and signs cele- brating women and family rights, as well as human dig- nity and democracy. Enjoy crab while aiding the less fortunate in this area during this annual fundraiser that benefits Florence Food Share. Ore- gon coast Dungeness crab, along with pasta, coleslaw, garlic bread, sodas, coffee and dessert will be served by volunteers. A no-host bar will also be available. Attendees will also have the opportunity to pur- chase special auction items. New this year are 50 “To Go” boxes which will be available for pick-up on Feb. 1 from 2 to 3 p.m. for $25 each. Alzheimer’s Assoc. presents ‘Living with’ series Once a month from Jan- uary to March, the Alz- heimer’s Association will present a series on Living with Alzheimer’s — Early Stage. Each meeting will be held at the Bromley Room of the Siuslaw Public Li- brary, 1460 Ninth St. in Florence.
