Voter registration deadline for May 21 election is Tuesday
The voter registration
deadline for the May 21,
2019 Election is Tuesday,
April 30. People who are
not registered to vote in any
Oregon county may register
online at oregonvotes.gov no
later than 11:59 p.m., Tues-
day, April 30.
The online option is avail-
able only to those with a val-
id Oregon driver’s license,
DMV-issued identification
card or learner’s permit.
Other registration op-
tions:
• Submit a voter registra-
tion form to the Elections
Office by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday,
April 30.
• Mail a voter registration
card to the Elections Office
with a postmark no later
than Tuesday, April 30.
New voters who will turn
18 on or before the May 21
Special Election Day may
register by the April 30
deadline and receive a ballot,
even if they are still 17 on the
deadline date.

The Lane County Sher-
iff ’s Office is partnering
with the Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA) to
help residents safely dispose
of prescription drugs while
educating the community
about the potential for abuse
of medications.
This is a no-questions-
asked prescription drug drop
off in effort to prevent the
unsafe disposal of medica-
tions, and to prevent medi-
cations from being stolen or
abused.
At the 16th Annual Na-
tional Take Back Day in Oc-
tober of last year, 914,236
pounds of medications were
collected at 5,839 sites na-
tionwide. Help in the fight
against prescription drug ad-
diction and check your med-
icine cabinet for prescription
drugs that are expired or that
you no longer use so they can
be safely disposed.

Center, 900 Greenwood St.,

Acceptable items include:

and diabetic meters.

Committee to meet Tuesday

workshop sponsored by the
Facilities Advisory Com-
mittee of the Siuslaw School
District will be held on Tues-
day, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. in
the Bromley Room of the
Siuslaw Public Library.
These meetings are de-
signed to foster communi-
ty discussion and input on
issues regarding our local
schools. At each meeting,
citizens have the oppor-
tunity to share their views
on a wide range of topics
relating to the schools: ed-
ucational offerings, facility
requirements, meeting the
present and future needs of
students, and more.
