People who are not registered to vote in any Oregon county may register online at oregonvotes.gov no later than 11:59 p.m., Tues- day, April 30. The online option is avail- able only to those with a val- id Oregon driver’s license, DMV-issued identification card or learner’s permit. Other registration op- tions: • Submit a voter registra- tion form to the Elections Office by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30. • Mail a voter registration card to the Elections Office with a postmark no later than Tuesday, April 30. New voters who will turn 18 on or before the May 21 Special Election Day may register by the April 30 deadline and receive a ballot, even if they are still 17 on the deadline date. The Lincoln Street ballot drop box at Lane County Elections will be open now through Tuesday, April 30, at 5 p.m., to make it easier for voters to drop off completed registration cards. “We are opening the drop box to accommodate Lane County citizens who may not be able to come to our office during regular busi- ness hours,” said Lane Coun- ty Clerk Cheryl Betschart. This is a no-questions- asked prescription drug drop off in effort to prevent the unsafe disposal of medica- tions, and to prevent medi- cations from being stolen or abused. At the 16th Annual Na- tional Take Back Day in Oc- tober of last year, 914,236 pounds of medications were collected at 5,839 sites na- tionwide.
