SIUSLAW NEWS | WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24, 2019 | 9A Instacart Grocery Shopping and NEDCO holds two financial wellness classes Delivery Service now in Florence Instacart, a full-service shopping and delivery ser- vice, is now operating and servicing Florence, Ore., and surrounding areas. Instacart is an American company that operates as a same-day gro- cery delivery service. Customers select groceries through a web application from various retailers and the order is delivered by a per- sonal shopper in as little as 1 hour. By March 2017, Instacart serviced 36 markets, com- posed of 1,200 cities in 25 US states, and now markets in Toronto and Vancouver, Canada. “In the 21st century, our lives are very busy and shop- ping for groceries is a neces- sity,” said Alan Clabaugh. “This service benefits every- one who can use this service to save some time that can be used to spend with fami- ly, such as busy moms, busy dads, seniors, people who live in isolated areas, shut ins, tourists or anyone who can benefit from a service like this.” The Instacart service has also created new jobs in Flor- ence. Instacart Shoppers are independent contractors who live and operate in the area. “Stay in your comfort zone and let us do your grocery shopping for you,” Clabaugh said. Elk membership is not re- quired. ‘Mamma Mia!’ — auditions for Last Resort Players begin Friday Last Resort Players is an- nouncing auditions for the musical “Mamma Mia!,” in which the songs of ABBA are used to tell the tale of a young woman’s search for her birth father. The story unfolds on a Greek island on the eve of her wedding. She has invited three men to the wedding from her mother’s past, ex- pecting to identify her father so he can walk her down the aisle. The rest is a rollicking musical with twists and turns as the truth unfolds. Bringing back the success- ful directing team from Last Resort Players’ “Chicago The Musical” in 2015, “Mamma Mia!” will be directed by Da- vid and Rosemary Lauria and produced by Dave Hansen and Paula Burnette. Music direction will be by Pat Sapp. Auditions will be held Fri- day, Saturday and Sunday, April 26, 27 and 28, and invit- ed callbacks will be held May 3, 4 and 5 at the Cross Road Assembly of God Church, 1380 10th St., in Florence, just north and west of the Siuslaw Public Library. Auditions are open to any- one aged 12+, all ethnicities and body types. Actors should bring with them an Audition Informa- tion Sheet, headshot and mu- sic. A pop song or even an ABBA song that best displays your vocal range and ability is acceptable. Look for bright, up-tempo numbers with lots of energy. An accompanist will be available, but bring your own sheet music. A music track is acceptable but cannot con- tain lead vocals. A CD player and sound bar will be avail- able. Also acceptable is an Android/Apple phone, iPod, computer track on a laptop, tablet or similar equipment with a 3’ cable. Bluetooth pairing will not be available. “Mamma Mia!” will be per- formed at the Florence Events Center in November. Full re- hearsals will start in Septem- ber.
