Hunters who drew a tag
will see the term “Selected”
next to their hunt choice, and
those who didn’t will see the
term “Not Selected.”
Hunters who applied and
haven’t created a username
and password at the
MyODFW.com new licensing
page yet should use the
Verify/Look up Your Account
feature to find their profile
and complete the process to
access their account online.
The deadline to purchase
your spring bear tag is the day
before the hunt begins. Sports
Pac holders who drew their
tag and chose the bear vouch-
er can pick up their tag online
by “purchasing” the tag (at no
additional cost) through the
MyODFW.com
licensing
page. Spring bear tags can
also be picked up or pur-
chased at licensed sale agents
and ODFW offices that sell
licenses.
Spring bear hunters who
chose electronic tagging will
see the tag appear in their
MyODFW app after it’s been
purchased or picked up. See
page 16 of the Oregon Big
Game Regulations under
“General Hunting
Regulations” for more details

V IK BOWLERS FINISH EIGHTH AT STATE
T
his season of Siuslaw
High School bowling
came to a successful
end last weekend, with both
Vikings teams competing on
the lanes for state competi-
tion.
The Lady Vikings compet-
ed at the Oregon State High
School Bowling championship
held at Firebird Lanes.
The tournament started by
the teams bowling 30 games of
Baker-style games, with 24
games on Saturday and six
more Sunday morning.
The combined scores for
each team determined where
they were seeded for the dou-
ble elimination round held
Saturday.
After the 30 games, both
Siuslaw teams moved into the
next round as the No. 10 seed
within their division.
With both teams having a
2-2 record in the elimination

“Both teams went into the
tournament with the goals to
win,” said Siuslaw bowling
program coordinator Dusty
Anderson. “Even though they
came up a little short of their
goal, it was still a successful
tournament and season.”
With only one senior on the
boys team and just two seniors
on the girls’ team, “The future
of the bowling teams are in
good hands,” added Anderson.

bay are able to fish year-round as
long weather conditions allow it.
STEP meetings are held the
first Wednesday of each month at
7 p.m., at the Florence Elks Club,
located on 12th Street, west of
Hwy 101.
All Florence STEP meetings
are open to the public.
MID COAST LAKES:
Stocking of the mid-
coast lakes will began the
first week of February.
Check the stocking sched-
ule online for dates and
locations of stockings.
These early stockings
include: Alder and Dune
Lake, Cleawox, Lost Lake,
Munsel Lake, Thissel
Pond, Munsel Lake, Big
Creek Reservoirs, and
Olalla Creek Reservoir.
Note: Olalla Reservoir
is operated and owned by
Georgia Pacific and is cur-
rently closed due to low
water and hazardous con-
ditions.

Winter steelhead fishing
on the Siuslaw has been
slow with the recent high
water but is improving as
the river drops back into
shape this week. The

bers have been good the
