In addition to sewing, Ardella expressed her creativity through her artwork, crafts and gar- dening. Wherever they lived, Ardella and Bob enjoyed camping, fishing and many strong friendships. Growing up on the Or- egon Coast and having so many fond memories there, they decided to move to Florence when Bob retired. Ardella was an active member of the Presbyte- rian Church of the Siu- slaw. She also enjoyed her involvement in PEO, Masonic Widows and playing bridge with Flo- rentine neighbors. Ardella is survived by her daughters: Terresa Hodge (Gerry) of Olym- pia, Wash., Dorothy Cole- man (Doug) of Bremer- ton, Wash., and Barbara Herrman (Tim) of Col- lege Station, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Tony, Joel, Andrea and Doro- thy, and three frequent- ly photographed great grandchildren. Ardella was preceded in death by her sister Mary Perkins. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Presbyterian Church of the Siuslaw. Memorials in her name may be made to the Pres- byterian Church of the Siuslaw in Florence. Burns’s Riverside Chap- el Florence Funeral Home was in charge of arrange- ments. SCALF—William “Bil- ly” Scalf Jr, 54, passed away Feb. 6, 2019, in Eu- gene. Services will be held later this spring. Arrangements are under the direction of Dunes Memorial Chapel.
