During the month of De- cember, the Florence Po- lice Department arrested 7 drivers for driving while impaired, one of which was arrested during the DUII High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) event. During the HVE event, Florence Officers issued 7 warnings for miscellaneous traffic offenses. The Florence Police De- partment will participate in another HVE event, which will take place during Su- per Bowl Sunday on Feb. 3, 2019. Law Enforcement agen- cies throughout Oregon and the rest of the United States participate in nationwide ef- forts to get impaired drivers off the street. High Visibility Enforce- ment, accomplished by increasing the number of officers on the streets ag- gressively seeking out im- paired drivers, is designed to deter people from driving after they have been drink- ing. For 2018 coverage, 156,105 Or- egonians chose health plans through HealthCare.gov. Now that open enrollment has ended, most people will be able to buy 2019 individ- ual and family coverage only when they have a major life change, such as getting mar- ried, having or adopting a baby, or losing other cover- age.
