The Siuslaw Field Office of
the Bureau of Land Manage-
ment is partnering with the
Siuslaw Watershed Council
and the Big Bear Camp in
Walton, Ore., to host a pub-
lic meeting to discuss and
receive feedback on a for-
est management project for
some of their Late-Succes-
sional Reserve and Ripari-
an Reserve lands north of
Highway 126 and through-
out the Siuslaw Watershed.
This meeting will be a
great place to learn more
about the groups’ guiding
forest management plan
and provide valuable feed-
back about its proposal,
which includes thinning
and restoration activities in
stands of trees and adjacent
streams on BLM lands to
support the restoration of
late-successional complex
stands spotted owl habitat.
For anyone who wants to
have a voice in managing
public lands, this is a great
place to be.
People are invited to
attend the meeting on
Wednesday, Dec. 12, from
4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the
Big Bear Camp in Walton,
89480 Nelson Mountain
Road.
The public scoping pe-
riod for this management
plan is set to begin on Dec.
3, allowing the public 30
days to comment.

inal mischief. She was sen-
tenced to five days in the
Florence City Jail. She must
pay $130 in fines and shall
not contact or be in or about
the residence or place of em-
ployment of the victim.
• Jason Lee Burke pleaded
no contest to DUII, driv-
ing while suspended and
reckless driving. He was
sentenced to six days in the
Florence City Jail. He must
pay $2,435 in fines and his
driver’s license is suspended
for three years.
