2A | WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2018 | SIUSLAW NEWS T HE R ECORD OBITUARIES MCGRAW—Gary Leon McGraw, 67, of Mapleton, passed away Oct. 10, 2018, at the Portland Veterans Hospital. Gary was born June 2, 1951, in Salem, Ore. He was raised in a loving family with mom and dad Juanita and John- Gary McGraw ny. Gary had two sisters, Cherrine and Kim- berlee, and two brothers, Larry and Mark. Gary enjoyed camping, fishing, rock-hounding and holidays with family. He graduated from Clack- amas High School in 1969. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1970 and was on active duty during the Vitenam War. He served on the U.S.S. Oklaho- ma City and was honorably discharged in 1975. Returning to Milwaukie, Ore., Gary married Martha Tayor and helped raise her two sons, Bill and Tony, who called him “Dad.” Gary worked for AAA Heating and, after his mar- riage ended, worked with First Call Heating and Cool- ing as a lead technician. Gary married Barbara Beeman in 1987. They en- joyed “getting away” to their cabin in Wamic, Ore., fish- ing and feeding their friend- ly backyard deer. Barbie passed away in 2005. Gary moved to Mapleton, Ore., in 2009 to live with his brother, Larry. Their bond grew stronger as they enjoyed the Oregon coast. They both collected an- tiques, rocks and fossils. Gary had many friends. He always had a generous heart and a helping hand. His infectious nature could not be ignored. He made us laugh; he made us cry. We have lost an amazing friend and wonderful broth- er, but Heaven has gained an angel. Goodbye, Sweet Brother. SKINNER—Robert “Bob” Skinner, 80, of Florence, passed away Oct. 19, 2018. Bob was born May 17, 1938, in North Bend, Ore., to parents Howard and Beth Skinner. Bob grew up in Skunk Hollow, graduating from Siuslaw High School in 1956.
