Results released from grant-funded
patrols to reduce traffic crashes, fatalities
During the Labor Day holi-
day, Lane County Sheriff ’s Of-
fice (LCSO) deputies conduct-
ed overtime saturation patrols
focused on impaired driving,
distracted driving, speeding
and seat belt noncompliance in
effort to reduce vehicle crashes,
injuries and fatalities. These
patrols were funded through
grants from the Oregon State
Sheriffs’ Association and the
Oregon Department of Trans-
portation.
During this two-week satu-
ration period, deputies worked
116 hours of grant-funded
overtime, which resulted in the
following enforcement con-
tacts:
• 2 Driving Under the Influ-
ence of Intoxicants
• 27 Driving While Suspend-
ed
• 62 Speeding
• 49 Failure to Use Safety Belt
• 33 Distracted Driving
• 101 other citations
• 2 felony arrests
The Lane County Sheriff ’s
Office is thankful for these
grants, which provided for traf-
fic enforcement that would not
otherwise be possible without
the grant funding.
