Throop, Com- mander of the 13th Coast Guard District, visited Station Siuslaw River on July 17 — his first visit since presiding over Florence’s official Coast Guard City cere- mony held last August. He was accompanied by Master Chief Petty Officer Ja- son Wong, Command Master Chief of the 13th Coast Guard District. Throop conducted an all-hands meeting with station crew and command, covering relevant topics and exchanging important information. He expressed appreciation returning to the Coast Guard City and was impressed with the continued relationship and mu- tual support between the com- munity and the Coast Guard. He took time to answer in- dividual concerns and address personal career goals of the crew. He also recognized DC3 Rylan Burum for a job well done with base housing im- provements. Availability and cost of local housing continues to be a seri- ous issue for station members and their families. Reserved individual tickets for performances are $35 for adults and $10 for youth/students un- der 18 years old. People who are interest- ed in the whole season can also purchase season tickets and get seven concerts for the price of five. At just $160, a season sub- scription represents a savings of $68 over the price of individual tickets. The average per-concert price will only be only $22.85.
