Habitat for Humanity also advocates for universal design and a holistic approach to Aging in Place through education and outreach, shared practices, strategic partnerships and research. Florence Habitat for Humanity (FHFH) also offers our “Ramps and Rails” program which helps low-income veterans, disabled individuals and elderly homeowners remain in their home by providing simple home modifications. These projects include wheelchair ramps, grab-bars, interior and exterior handrails, replacing light switches with rocker style switches and lever style door knobs.
