The initiative encour- ages patients to express their wishes regarding healthcare and for providers and fac- ilities to respect those wishes, whatever they may be. Attendees of the Home Health and Hospice advance directive work- shop will receive a copy of the Advance Directive Workbook and instruc- tions on how to complete the Advance Directive Form, which requires sig- natures by the individual, two witnesses and the chosen or appointed health care representa- tive. “There are some important facts to know about a Health Care Advance Directive,” Wood said. “It is volun- tary, it does not expire and it may be revoked at any time.” For more information on the LCC workshop, contact Wood at 541-997- 3418. Members in good standing should be receiving a packet with candidate informa- tion and a ballot. They should fol- low the instructions included, making sure they allow enough time for the ballots to be received by 4 p.m. on April 16. Members may also drop off their ballots with the election coordinator at the Law Office of Jane C. Hanawalt, 327 Laurel St. in Florence. “We expect to announce the elected candidates soon after the ballots have been received,” Grant said. E ASTER S ERVICES Green Film series brings ‘WASTED!’ to Florence The Siuslaw News and KCST/KCFM Coast Radio are excited to once again partner with City Lights Cinemas to host a community-screening of the new food waste film, “WASTED!: The Story of Food Waste.” There will be two showings on Thursday, April 26, at 12:30 and 6 p.m. “WASTED!” exposes the criminality of food waste and how it’s directly contributing to climate change and shows us how each of us can make small changes to solve one of our greatest problems. Admission for the film will be free with a donation of a canned or dry food item for Florence Food Share, whose mission is to alleviate hunger in Western Lane County. Admission tickets are required, limit two per person, and available starting March 26 at Siuslaw News, 148 Maple St., and City Lights Cinemas, 1920 Highway 101. “WASTED!” is shown as part of Siuslaw News and Coast Radio’s Green Film series, targeting important top- ics through innovative films and community discussion.
