HILL—Perry P. Hill, 59,
passed away March 5, 2018.
Perry was born to Orrin
(Bud) and Beverly Hill on Dec.
15, 1958, in
Eugene, Ore.

his family
and friends.
He is sur-

mother, Beverly Hill; his broth-
ers William Hill and Delazon
Smith; his sisters Millie
Mederios and Mary Matthews;
many nieces and nephews and
extended family.
He will be missed by all.

There will be a celebration
of life on Sunday, March 25, at
2 p.m., at Mary Matthews’

BYERS—While surrounded
by her family, Margaret Louise
(Forester) Byers went to be
with her beloved Savior in the
early morn-
ing hours of
March 17,
2018.
Peggy, as
she
was
known by
most, was
born Aug.
14, 1940, to
Margaret
Thomas and
Byers
D o r r i s
Forester in Independence, Mo.
In 1953, her family moved to
the West Coast, where she
graduated from high school
and started a family in
Bellflower, Calif.
“Grandma By The Ocean”
settled in Florence Oregon
where she worked and retired
from Peace Harbor Hospital as
an executive assistant to the
medical administrator.
She had many cherished
friends in her home town, and
away, who became her extend-
ed family. She attended church,
taught Little Angels Sunday
school, quilted, enjoyed her
garden and loved listening to
her Christian music.
Her most valued treasures
were her family.
She is survived in death by
her siblings: Karen Sue Odom
and Thomas Charles Forester;
her children: Cheryl (Lindy)
Campbell, Vicky Sue Shaw,
and Jamie Elizabeth Ruggiero;
her grandchildren: Phillip
Thomas Furgason, Megan
Lynette Miller, Katlyn Marie
Reeves,
Cameron
Scott
Campbell, Reagan Marie
Ruggiero and Carson Jude
Ruggiero; her great-grandchil-
dren: Palyn Kate Miller,
Lilllyana Sue Furgason and
Henley Marie Reeves; in addi-
tion, and far too many to men-
tion, nephews, nieces and her
cousins.
A celebration of her life will
be on Sunday, March 25, at
Cross Roads Assemply of God,
1380 10th St. in Florence,
beginning at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations
can be made to Peace Harbor
Hospital Foundation.
Mom, grandma and great-
grandma is loved and will be
missed.

The Port of Siuslaw Board
of Commissioners invites
applications from residents
interested in serving on the
Port’s Budget Committee.
Interested persons should
obtain an application from the
Port of Siuslaw Office at 100
Harbor St., or from the port’s
website at www.portofsiuslaw
.com.
Applications will be accept-
ed until 5 p.m., Friday, March
30.
Applicants must be regis-
tered voters residing within the
Port of Siuslaw district. The
district boundary encompasses
most of the Siuslaw River
watershed, including the com-
munities of Florence and
Dunes City and extending
upriver to Mapleton, Walton,
Lorane and Blachly.

annual budget. The Budget
Committee approves the budg-
et and tax levy.
The budget then goes to the
Port Commission to be adopt-
ed. Committee members serve
three-year terms which expire
on June 30.
A Budget Committee mem-
ber is expected to spend up to
20 hours of their time. That
includes reviewing the budget
and meeting one to three times
from May through June each
year. The committee may be
called to meet again during the
year in the event of a signifi-
cant budgetary change.
