March 2-4 We are located in Eugene. Th e roots of Roby’s Furniture & Appliance and Th e Mattress Shoppe began 63 years ago in Til- lamook, Ore. But the tree really began to spread in 1995 when the third generation of the family- owned business began to get involved. Within a few years, the Lewis family had purchased two stores in Lincoln County: one in Newport, the other in Lincoln City. In 2005 Roby’s purchased Western Lane Furniture in Florence, followed by an- other store in Astoria sev- eral years later. By 2017 Roby’s was building a new 30,000-square-foot retail location in its home- town of Tillamook and, when it opened, Roby’s converted its original location to a discount center. At the same time, Roby’s purchased an- other established furniture store in McMinnville, bringing the total number of locations to seven. With those outlets and the company’s unique approach to treating customers and employees, Roby’s has become one of the highest volume furniture, appliance and mattress dealers in Or- egon. Th at approach includes a broad number of tools in its toolbox to make sure customers can feel comfortable that they’ve made a good de- cision when they buy something. From a well- trained sales team, to no-interest fi nancing, to a 10-day “take it back and exchange it” guarantee, there are plenty of reasons why people who shop at Roby’s once, will likely shop their again and again. It has to be the same model with the same op- tions, and it has to be available for delivery in our market area. Roby’s also believes the purchase experience does not end when you write the check or off er your credit card or cash. Th e company is in the process of expand- ing its delivery options. Right now, you can take it with you or schedule a delivery within a few days for only $39.99. Th at delivery, by the way, also includes set up, adjustments and hauling off your old furniture, appliance or mattress. Th e new delivery option currently being explored would be a “white glove” type experience and will feature same-day or next-morning delivery for anything in stock. Finally, one other distinction that sets Roby’s aside is its policy of being closed on Sundays. Sure, Roby’s could probably do a lot of business on Sunday, but the company leaders made a clear decision several years ago that they need to give themselves and their team members a day off once a week to spend time with their families and relax. Th ey decided that taking the time to “live” was more important than making more money.
