Page 2 Center Stage Florence Events Center www.EventCenter.org 541-997-1994 ART CALENDAR Gallery One Exhibit: Fresh Impressions T he Friends of FEC and their Gallery Committee are pleased to off er exhibits in Galleries One and Five celebrating the art- work of students from Siuslaw and Maple- ton High Schools. Art teachers Kim Pickell, Siuslaw High, and Jessica Nelson, Mapleton High, have been instrumental in helping students pro- vide art for this exhibit. Additionally, the Friends of FEC have supported this special event by providing funds to students for matting and framing their art, prize money for the Awards cer- emony, and refreshments for the fun and casual reception. All students’ art will be recognized, with Award judging done by the FEC Gallery committee members Jo Beaudreau and Pat- tie Brooks-Anderson, Show Coordinators, as well as John Leasure, Liz Johnson, Jane Connelly, Bonnie MacDuff ee, Pattie Wil- liams, and Chairperson Claudia Ignatieff . Th e community, including students and their families are invited to an Award Re- ception on Wednesday, January 17, from 5 – 7 p.m. Th e public is invited to join the event and congratulate and support youth on their talents and positive impact on our commu- nity! Th is Exhibit will be on display during the month of January, 2018. FRAA (Florence Regional Arts Alli- ance) is pleased to be the event organizer again this year, bringing together artisans, both local and regional. Th ere will be demonstrations on Fri- day by artists, Michael Wood and John Leasure and on going demonstrations by numerous other artisans as well as samples and tastings off ered by Spiritopia and the Naked Winery on both days.
