He was sen- tenced to five days in the Florence City Jail. He must pay $630 in fines and not con- tact or be in or about the resi- dence or place of employ- ment of the victim. Daniel Otto Napier pleaded no contest to harassment. He was sentenced to 15 days in the Florence City Jail. He must pay $205 in fines and not contact and be in or about the residence or place of employment of the victim. Fay Vivienne Greco plead- ed no contest to harassment. She must pay $530 in fines and not contact and be in or about the residence or place of employment of the victim. Rodney Lee Lowe pleaded no contest to driving while suspended, attempting to pos- OBITUARIES sess methaphetamines and criminal trespass. He was sentenced to three days in the Florence City Jail. He must pay $430 in fines and not contact and be in or about the residence or place of employment of the victim. Ryan William McCurdy pleaded guilty to driving while suspended. He was sen- tenced to three days in the Florence City Jail. He must pay $1,280 in fines. William Morley Hopper pleaded guilty to DUII. He was sentenced to six days in the Florence City Jail. He must pay $2,435 in fines. His drivers license is sus- pended for one year. Cynthia Lynn Aho pleaded guilty to DUII and reckless driving. She was sentenced to two days in the Florence City Jail. She must pay $2,410 in fines. Her drivers license is sus- pended for 90 days. City seeks to fill board, commission vacancies Citizens who would like to see more public involvement in the City of Florence, or who would like to make a dif- ference and help contribute to the goals and objectives of the city, should consider applying for one of the open positions on one of the City’s committees. The deadline for applica- tions is Dec. 31. These positions offer citi- zens an excellent opportunity to volunteer their services on significant matters. Committee member contri- butions are invaluable to the Mayor, the City Council, as well as the City. Four churches in Florence work together each month to provide free dinners for com- munity members. Florence Community Suppers are held Wednesday nights from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The final supper for November will be Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the Florence United Methodist Church, at Second and Kingwood streets St. Andrews Episcopal, New Life Lutheran, Presbyterian Church of the Siuslaw and Florence United Methodist Church provide the dinners as a service to anyone. BROWNLEE —Barbara Jane Brownlee, 90, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017. Her sense of humor, love of music and contentment in all things brightened the lives of everyone who knew her. What an elegant and beautiful woman of God! She was born in Ashland, Ore. on July 16, 1927, to Leonard and Elizabeth Parks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Joseph Brownlee; and two of her sons, Thomas Steven Brownlee and William Nathan Brownlee. He started Fred Doolin his career with the Port Hueneme, Calif., Police Department on Jan. 1, 1965, and retired from the Florence Police Department in 1997. Fred was an avid car and gun collector and enjoyed spending his spare time bowling and practicing at the shooting range. Fred was preceded in death by our beloved mother, Mary Dolores, in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Rhoda, and his children with Mary Dolores: Pamela and Tamela; grandson Aaron and great-granddaughter, Reese. No service is currently planned. He mar- ried Jeanette O r y i n November 1967. He served in the U.S. Navy on land and on the U.S.S. Carl Minton III Edson. They moved to California, where he worked as a truck driver and raised their three children. He retired in 1992 after a stroke and moved to Florence. Russ was an avid O-gauge train hobbyist. He was a mem- ber of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon). Russ is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanette, who works at PeaceHealth.
