2 B SIUSLAW NEWS ❚ SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2017 k n a Th u Yo presents H o m e c omin g Gala 2017 On behalf of all our members, I want to thank everyone who worked on the Boys and Girls Club of Western Lane County’s 2017 Homecoming Gala, the Senior – Senior Prom. Do- nors and sponsors and staff and volunteers all pulled together to make this one of the most memorable events of the year. Th ose of you who attended and helped us raise much needed op- erating revenue made all of our eff orts worthwhile. Every penny raised will stay in the Florence community and go toward supporting operational expenses and vital club programs like Money Matters, to help promote fi nancial responsibility and independence; SMART Girls, that educates girls in developmental needs, health and fi tness and self-esteem enhancement, and Passport to Manhood, that promotes positive, responsible male role-model behavior in young men. Our pledge to never turn away anyone ages six to 18 because of family economic hardship can continue to be met thanks to all of you. And a special shout out to Siuslaw School District Superintendent Andy Grzeskowiak for his help with data tabulation and recordkeeping and Al Rojas for his excellent work at spinning platters as our prom DJ. Also a big thank you to our guest MC Wayne Sharpe. Jack Davis, Executive Director Boys and Girls Club of Western Lane County We couldn’t do it without you!
