As an artist, Smoley has dab- bled in everything from paint- ing and basket weaving to paper making. However, she has found her true passion in working with glass. She has a deep love for creating artworks from malleable objects to cre- ate one-of-a-kind lamps, chan- deliers, wall hangings and other three-dimensional pieces that reflect and direct light. Smoley is also a member of Backstreet Gallery in Florence and is currently represented by several galleries in Oregon. Past exhibits include Maude Kerns Art Center in Eugene, the Justice Center in Portland, the University of Oregon, and many private collections throughout the world. “We are working studios that provides an experience for local folks and tourists to engage in watching art being created, and participating in a variety of classes that we offer such as Fuse and Sip with glass artists, and Paint and Sip and mixed media classes with guest artists,” Smoley said. The Studios at Jayne Smoley Design are open by appoint- ment by calling 541-991-0110, for classes, and during the Second Saturday Artwalk when they feature the work of a guest artist.
