This is a chance for those who are in mourning, or know people who are, to meet others with the same experience, learn that grief is a normal process, talk about their grief in a safe, non-judgmental environment, receive support, offer support to others by lis- tening and learn about the grieving process. The classes cover a wide variety of topics, including changes experienced in bereavement, self-help approaches, understanding the grief process, cope with stress with emphasis on self-care, role changes and exploring what helps and does not help with loss. The classes also include dis- cussion as participants share experiences and receive sup- port from others. “Journey Through Grief” will be led by a trained bereavement counselor and confidentiality is assured. There is no charge to partic- ipate, and all materials will be provided and open to all com- munity members who have experienced the death of someone. Outdoor burning date delayed due to fire danger The fall outdoor burning season is expected to open on Saturday, Oct. 7, for many Lane County residents. The season, originally set to start Oct. 1, has been delayed a week.
