Those folks who were class- mates but may not have actual- ly graduated from Siuslaw High School, are also invited. Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a lunch barbeque will be held at the gazebo in the East Woahink area of Honeyman State Park. A dinner is planned for Saturday night at the Florence Events Center, beginning with a no-host social hour from 5 to 6 p.m. Buffet dinner begins at 6 p.m., with a short program from 7:30 to 8 p.m. Friends from other graduat- ing classes and faculty are invited to join in from 8 to 10 p.m. for additional social time. Lunch on Saturday is $5 per person, and dinner is $45 per person. Friday night’s activities and Saturday evening social time after 8 p.m. are free. Florence Unitarians to discuss ‘dirty laundry’ On Sunday, July 23, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Florence Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, past president of FUUF and its cur- rent webmaster Walt Staton will speak with a message titled “Dirty Laundry.” “Hanging up our dirty laun- dry for all to see, gives us a chance to be transparent, to look at our flaws and find healthy solutions together,” Staton said. “Let’s not run from our problems. but meet them head on.” The UU Fellowship is locat- ed at 87738 Hwy 101 at Heceta Beach Road and is wheelchair accessible. A:Th e Peace Harbor Volunteers are a group of caring people who want to serve the hospital in meaningful ways. Q: What are your greatest accomplishments so far, this year? A: Th rough our fund raising eff orts we were able to donate $15,000 to the new Palestine care program from 6/16-6/17. We provided $2300 for 7 special thermometers to the nurse’s station $2100 to the cafeteria for a warming unit to keep patients food warm, $500 to pastoral care and $500 to front lobby. Q: Do you have a personal story that describes the impact your organization has had in the community? A: During the emergency department construction volunteers were called upon to provide special service to the staff and the patients. Volunteer personally guided patients to services they needed in a safe manner. Th is was above and beyond regular routine duties. Q: What is your current greatest need? A:We need more volunteers.
