June 27 DUII was reported in the 1500 block of Ninth Street. Arrest, with warrant, was reported in the 1000 block of Highway 101. Theft from vehicle was reported in the 8700 block of Harbor Vista Road. Theft was reported from the 2500 block of Highway 101. Arrest, with warrant, was reported in the 900 block of Greenwood Street. Clarification Theft was reported in the 1500 block of Sixth Street. Accident, without injury, was reported at the Port of Siuslaw. Dispute was reported on Airport Road. June 29 Arrest, with warrant, was reported in the 1300 block of Bay Street. Fire was reported in the 2100 block of Tenth Street. Arrest was reported in the 900 block of Greenwood Street. June 30 Trespass was reported in the 3700 block of Highway 101. Theft was reported in the 4700 block of Highway 101. Burglary was reported in the 8800 block of Collard Lake Road. July 1 Fight was reported in the 1000 block of Highway 101. Burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Rhododendron Dr. Accident, with unknown injury, was reported on Glenada Ridge Road. Theft was reported in the 1500 block of Ninth Street. In the article, “Mapleton School District Enters 21st Century” (July 5) in the Siuslaw News, it stated that the Mapleton schools campus was new in 1957. The high school was built in 1950. The middle school, which was then the grade school, was estab- lished in the 1940s, with the new grade school built in the 1960s. 20% OFF SALE Today Only July 15th OBITUARY FEDORUK—Mrs. Sandra Ellen Fedoruk (née Seely), 78, of Florence, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017. Sandy was born to parents Samuel Seely and Gethel Cook on April 10, 1939, in Wilmington, Del. She grew up the eldest of two girls and attended M e n l o Atherton High School. S a n d y attended the College of San Mateo, Sandra receiving an Fedoruk AA in dental assisting, after which she was a dental assistant from 1960-1974. In 1961, she married Nestor Andrew Fedoruk, whom she met in Mountain View, Calif. In 1975, the couple had one child, Claire Seely. Sandy was very active as a volunteer in Claire’s schools in special education, and as a member of PEO, Altar Guild and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church over the next 30 years. She was an ordained Lay Eucharistic Minister for the Episcopal Church of America. Sandy and Andy lived in many states, settling in Florence in 2000. Sandy is survived by her daughter, Claire Seely Fedoruk; her cousins: William Day and Marsha Day Keller; her sisters- in law, Marie Foster and Jane Skulsky; three nephews, one niece, five great-nephews and four great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Gethel; and her sister, Barbara Susan. Sandy was cremated July 12, as per her wishes. A celebration of her life will take place at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Florence on Thursday, July 20, at begin- ning at 11 a.m. Friends and family are invit- ed to attend and view the scat- tering of her ashes at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Memorial Garden shortly thereafter.
