SIUSLAW NEWS ❚ SATURDAY, JULY 8, 2017 Spirituali-Tea discusses ‘women’s intuition’ New Life Lutheran honors nursing student In May, the New Life Lutheran Legacy and Endowment Comm- ission granted another schol- arship to Ileen Berkshire, a third-year nursing student. Berkshire was given a check for $750. The commission was established to be able to share income from invest- ments as scholarships given to deserving students. The commission chose Berkshire in 2015 for a $500 grant, and this year was able to support the student once again with an additional award. Berkshire has been work- ing to achieve her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse to help others as well as her own family. Each year at this time, the New Life Lutheran Legacy honors one or more students with scholarships and grants to groups benefiting the com- munity. On Monday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m., the community is invited to join a friendly group from diverse spritual paths looking to share spiritual paths. The gathering will meet at the home of James and Suzanne Heintz, 875 Seventh St. Normal participation is 12 to 20 people.
