SOS will recieve donations and host Chamber’s Business After Hours Florence Area Chamber of Commerce invites the public to their Business After Hours event on July 20, at Siuslaw Outreach Services (SOS), 1576 12th St., from 5:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. During the event, the SOS board will introduce its new executive director, Bob Teter, and celebrate the successful completion of their recent Rainbow Fund matching cam- paign with special check pre- sentations. Marianne Brisbane will cater the event and bever- ages will be available. “We are so excited about hosting the Chamber’s Business After Hours and hope the public will join us for this big event,” says Teter. “This spring we were approached by Tuesday 6/27 an anonymous community member who was concerned about homeless youth. The project was designed to raise funds to get kids into homes, get them help with their education and dental needs, and provide access to cultural enrichment programs,” Teter said. Recently, SOS recieved a matching donation challenge. If SOS raised $5,000, the donor would match the total. That $5,000 matching check will be presented at the Chamber’s After Hours event. Also on that evening, the Florence Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will present SOS with a check from their quarterly collections The Chamber’s executive Marge Eichenberger Judy Sidell director, Bettina Hannigan, says the Chamber’s Business After Hours social events offer members and the public valu- able networking opportunities. “Every one of our After Hours events is beneficial to busi- nesses and the public in some way,” says Hannigan, “ and this one has the extra benefit of celebrating success and com- passionate contributions that demonstrate what an awesome community we live in.” For more information about SOS contact them at 541-997- 2816 or FlorenceSOS.org.
