The applications should demonstrate how the funding would educationally, cultur- ally, physically or civically improve the students or resi- dents of the area. App-licants must be a not for-profit organization. Funds will not be awarded to individuals or operating expenses. Grant applications can be obtained at the Mapleton Post Office, Mapleton Public Library or by calling Kathy West at 541-268-4665. $500 REWARD FOR SAFE RETURN. CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT CLASS City of Florence seeks volunteers for city committees by April 28 Those who would like to become more involveed in the City of Florence or contribute to the goals and objectives of the City can apply for one of the open positions on one of the City’s committees. The deadline for applica- tions this Friday, April 28. These positions offer citi- zens an excellent opportunity to volunteer their services on significant matters. Committee member contri- butions are invaluable to the Mayor, the City Council, as well as the City. The following boards and committees are currently fill- ing vacancies for varying term lengths. • Budget Committee: 1 open position • Environmental Management Advisory Committee (EMAC): 1 open position • Public Art Committee: 1 open position Applying for a position is easy.
