She will serve in a key lead- ership role managing and developing fund raising events and volunteer opportunities. This newly created position includes participation with the Board of Directors in advanc- ing the goals of the OCHS Mission Statement. In this position Ms. Dickson will also be interfacing with the animal shelter and thrift store management teams as well as exploring financial base expan- sion avenues. She will also make recom- mendations to the board for change and improvements to operations. OCHS welcomes Danielle as an energetic and talented new member to the OCHS team of staff and volunteers. Volunteers whose shared goals are to continue expand- ing opportunities that will bet- ter serve and enrich the lives of each of the dogs and cats in our care. KXCR hosts Valentine dance and raffle at Elk’s Lodge on Feb. 11 “Romance” rhymes with “Dance” and residents can enjoy both on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Elks Lodge, 1686 12th Street. The KXCR sponsored Valentine Dance will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. and will pres- ent some of the best romantic music of the past 50 years. The lights will be low as you glide with your partner to the romantic strains of Glenn Miller’s Moonlight Serenade. And if you’re still standing at 10 p.m. you might find your- self dancing to Patti Page’s Tennessee Waltz. In between, who knows what memories will bubble up from KXCR’s playlist. Council seeks to fill vacancy Dunes City is accepting applications for a City Councilor.Anyone interested in applying for this position must complete an Application for Appointive Office form available at Dunes City Hall. Applications may be mailed or delivered to Dunes City Hall, 82877 Spruce St., Westlake, OR 97493. Applications could be considered and the position filled during the Feb. 9 City Council meeting. This is a volunteer position with a term ending date of Jan. 10, 2019. All applicants must reside in Dunes City. The City Council meets the second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in Dunes City Hall, and in Special Sessions as necessary. Applicants will be notified of the date the City Council will consider applications and should plan to attend that meeting.
