recognized at library
On Saturday, Feb. 25,
KXCR, Community Radio,
and Citizen’s Democracy
Watch will commemorate 400
years of social justice
activism.
The event will be held in
the Bromley Room at the
Siuslaw Public Library, and is
free to the public.

port. The ladder on the dock behind ICM was removed as it is a safety hazard. Dock B will also be leveled by
the addition of a large ballast tank. Repairs should be completed next week.

AARP to begin free tax preparation assistance
at Siuslaw Public Library beginning Feb. 2
Local AARP members will
soon begin assisting communi-

state tax returns.
Tax assistance will be pro-
vided in the Bromley Room at
the Siuslaw Public Library,
every Monday and Thursday
from Feb. 2 through April 13.
Assistance will also be avail-
able on Saturday, April 15,
from 9:15 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Individuals are asked to
bring their 2015 tax return, a
photo ID, social security card,
2016 tax and medical docu-
ments, including Medicare, pri-
vate, and their medical insur-
ance information. This service
is provided free of charge to
residents of all ages with low or
moderate income levels.

the Elks Lodge invites the pub-
lic to attend “The Best
Wurstfest” on the Oregon
coast. Admission to the event
is $5 and there is no charge for
children 12 and under.
The Wurstfest will feature
live German folk music and
dancing along with authentic
Bratwurst,AppleStrudel,
Pretzels, beer and wine.All
proceeds from this event go to
fund Vocational Scholarships
to be awarded to deserving stu-
dents in our community.

Dunes City is accepting
applications for a City
Councilor.
Anyone interested in apply-
