OBITUARIES
SWARZ—Linda
Jo
Henning Swarz, 70, formerly
of Florence, passed away Jan.
4, 2017, a day before her 71st
birthday.
Linda grew up in the
Cleveland,
Ohio area
and graduat-
ed

Wo o s t e r
College in
Ohio
in
1968.
L i n d a
married the Linda Swarz
one
and
only man in her life, Gary
Swarz, in 1970. She and Gary
moved to Florence in the mid
1990s after enjoying life and
work adventures in Texas,
Arizona and Portland, Ore.
Those who knew the couple
will remember them for their
continued adventures in the
Harley world, motorhome trav-
els, Rhododendron Club,
menagerie of birds and many,
many other collectibles.
Linda was an avid seeker of
the blown glass floats the first
year they were introduced for
discovery in the Florence area,
finding a record number.
After Gary’s death in 2010,
Linda joined the Rotary Club
of Florence, Florence Tennis
Center, Coastal Fitness and
thoroughly
enjoyed
her
friends’ company for coffee
dates and for shopping. She
was known for her flare for
fashion, accessorized with
unique shoes, jewelry and hats
that only Linda could pull off.
And let us not forget her
always artfully painted finger-
nails that she loved to show off.
Linda
moved
to
Glastonbury, CT., in early 2015
to be closer to her sister and her
family. There, she became
involved in the CT Audubon
Society,
Chamber
of
Commerce, two book clubs, art
lessons, spirited group discus-
sions on current events and
volunteered working the polls
for three elections.
