Ring in the New Year

as well as turning back
the clock when blues man
Curtis Salgado teams up with
fellow Northwesterner Hank
Shreve.
The Hank Shreve Band
will open the evening concert
at 9 p.m., followed by
Salgado in an evening that
will bring Salgado full-circle
as the Florence Events
Center, 715 Quince St., cele-
brates its 20th anniversary.

“I contacted Michael first,
and he came by and took a
look at them. He is going to
investigate and see if these
movies are available for view-
ing,” Sapp said.
If so, it would mean a
decades-late return to the
screen for many of the films.
“I think it would be great to
see these movies now,” Sapp
said. “hopefully they will be
available and we will be able to
watch them again.”
The other posters uncov-
ered were promoting the films
“Wings over Honolulu,”
“Guilty Parent” and “Wake Up
and Live,” all of which were
released in 1937.
There was also a promotion-
al poster from a live vaudeville
show, “Paul Bunyon and the
Lumberjacks,” which pointed
out that dancing was free. The
event was sponsored by the
auxiliary chapter of the Vets,
American Legion and local
students.
