ver the weekend, members of the
Siuslaw boys bowling team
defeated both Marshfield and
North Bend in the Reedsport Tournament
finals to nab first place in the 12-team
competition.
“The guys did a very good job,” said
Dusty Anderson, coach and bowling pro-
gram coordinator for the Vikings. “It was
a great team effort.”
The Viking boys bowled a total of 24
games and averaged 178 pins per game,
earning a spot in the finals. From there,
the Viks outbowled Marshfield 342 to 329
in two games, then took on North Bend,
defeating the Bulldogs in two games 339
to 323 for the tournament title.
On Sunday, the Lady Vikings were at
Cottage Grove, where they competed in a
six-team mixed tournament that included
boys and girls teams.
Siuslaw finished first among the girls
teams and second overall, with the
Cottage Grove boys taking first place.
“The girls bowled well and lost to a
very good Cottage Grove boys team,” said
Anderson. “It was a good weekend for all
our teams.”
